Learn MoreBing People Search Adds User-Controlled Linked Pages
Last Updated on Wednesday, 22 February 2012 02:01 Written by Alan Wednesday, 22 February 2012 02:01
Bing, Microsoft’s search answer to Google, announced today that they are adding Linked Pages to let the user control what information is linked to them. That means when someone searches for you, you can control exactly what information they find, such as your Twitter feed, Facebook page, and personal blog. You only have to add what you want known to your personal Linked Page.
“Beginning today, with Linked Pages, we’re letting you link websites related to you in search results. Now your friends looking for you online can find what you want them to find. You can also link pages to your friends to help them shine on Bing as well.”
When you visit Bing.com/linkedpages you will be able to log in with your Facebook ID and then begin adding your information. It doesn’t just have to be pages of your own either, you can also add sites that you like, or that have to do with your hobbies. If you decide you don’t want something associated with yourself then you can remove it later.
The new Bing Linked Pages are available now. You can read the full announcement and get more detailed information over at the Bing Blog. You can also check out the Microsoft video below to learn more.

Mozilla Marketplace Opening for App Submissions Soon
Last Updated on Wednesday, 22 February 2012 12:54 Written by Alan Wednesday, 22 February 2012 12:54
As you may have heard, Mozilla, the maker of the popular Firefox web browser, has announced an app Marketplace, much like Chrome has. Today they announced that they will soon be opening up their store for app submissions. They will kick it off next week at Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
“Today, we are incredibly proud to announce that the Mozilla Marketplace will open for developer submissions next week during Mobile World Congress. If you are an app developer interested in distributing and monetizing your app across device and platform silos, you should submit your app to the Mozilla Marketplace. Submitting your app will reserve your app name and give your app the chance to be featured in the launch later this year”
The new Marketplace will be operating system and device independent and apps will be built entirely on open technologies such as CSS, HTML5, and JavaScript. Developers can get more information from the Mozilla Labs blog.
