Microsoft has once again released a stunning new theme for Windows 7.  This time it’s called Dark Skies and it features beautiful photography as opposed to being based on a season, holiday, movie, or game.  I don’t know about you, but I love watching storms – i love the look of clouds rolling in and the sound of thunder and beauty of lightning.  While this theme doesn’t show lightning or make thunder sounds, it does show plenty of  beautiful dark clouds.

“Twisting tree limbs are silhouetted against billowing clouds, fences stretch to dark horizons, and flocks of birds burst forth across the sky, seeming to portend doom. Also, there are cows. It’s a gothic world of mystery and foreboding in this free theme for Windows 7, featuring photos by Tracy Hymas.”

You can find the theme over at the Personalization Gallery, where you can also browse the many other themes available for Windows 7.  Themes do require you to be running a particular version of Windows 7 – either Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions will work.
