We knew there was a Star Wars themed Xbox 360 on the way a while back when a Microsoft rep dropped the word on his blog, but today we got official confirmation from Microsoft’s own Xbox guru, Major Nelson. The new bundle of joy will arrive this April 3rd, with a newly designed Xbox 360 case, controller, Kinect, and the game itself, all in one cool package.
There is a lot to look forward to with the new George Lucas-Microsoft partnership. The new Star Wars game will be fully compatible with Kinect, the controller is C-3PO gold, the Kiect is white, and the new Xbox 360 case is unlike any that have been released before, with it’s white color and blue trim. The game too will have many cool features, which were listed in the announcement.
“With five dynamic modes – Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Rising, Podracing, Rancor Rampage, Galactic Dance Off and Duels of Fate – “Kinect Star Wars” makes it possible for Star Wars fans of all ages to delve into immersive Star Wars experiences. In addition to the previously announced Jedi, Podracing and Rancor modes, Xbox 360 and LucasArts have today unveiled new additions to the game.”
The new game will also feature the ability to play in 3D, which is a nod to the upcoming release of Star Wars: Episode 1, The Phantom Menace in 3D. The new movie hits theaters this weekend and select AMC theaters will have a special hands-on with the new game and console. Amazon is currently taking pre-orders, but have not announced their pricing, however MSRP is $449.99.
