Microsoft’s Clear Arc Touch Prototype Mouse

Microsoft representative Brandon LeBlanc has unveiled a clear Arc Touch prototype mouse. The mouse allows the user to see all of the inner workings of an Arc Touch mouse, while still getting the same great functionality from it. If you have ever wondered how this simple piece of computer hardware works, then this input device is something you will want to check out. LeBlanc explains that, “This prototype Arc Touch Mouse is made with a clear plastic at the front (where the Touch strip and buttons are) where you can see all the electronics inside that power this mouse. That’s right – you can see the insides of the mouse!”
The back, or “bendy” part, is also clear, using clear rubber instead of plastic, allowing you to see each flexible line of the Microsoft Arc Touch mouse. This explains how the mouse moves and is able to lay flat for easy storage, making it great for travel.
Unfortunately, this great prototype isn’t available for sale, and apparently won’t be. LeBlanc received this from the Microsoft Hardware division, who have no plans to mass-produce, or even do a limited run of this cool looking mouse. Perhaps with the release of LeBlanc’s post, Microsoft will reconsider that and do at least a limited run of the clear Arc Touch mouse, like they did with the limited-edition Chinese New Year Arc Touch mouse.
