Submit Your Photos to Microsoft for Windows Themes and Wallpaper

All of the professional and hobby photographers out there take notice – Microsoft is accepting your work for Windows 7 Themes and Wallpaper. It’s a new pilot project that was just announced yesterday. Microsoft is looking for photos to be included in Windows 7 Themes or that can be made available as Wallpapers in the Windows Personalization Gallery.
Now for the more important information that many of you are probably already wondering about. That, of course, is your rights to your work. Microsoft’s Jennifer Shepherd specifically addressed this by stating “You will retain copyright on and be credited for your works, and if you ever change your mind we will remove your art or photography from the gallery at your request.” She also pointed out the Frequently asked questions, Guidelines, and Terms of Use to further cover questions you may have about your rights and your work.
If you submit multiple photos and they fit a related area then Microsoft may consider creating a theme featuring your work. Otherwise, your work may be combined with that of other photographers to create single themes.
The “open call for photographers” is only available in English for now, but they are hoping to expand it. That doesn’t mean you can’t submit your work from elsewhere, but you just have write your information in English. To submit your photography and art, just visit Windows Gallery: An open call for art and photography.
