Firefox 7 is Making Some Add-ons Hidden
Written by Alan Wednesday, 28 September 2011 09:21
Yesterday Firefox 7 debuted and today Mozilla announced the first bug in their new web browser. The problem involves add-ons not showing up after installing version 7. As Mozilla states the problem, it’s “an issue in which some users may have one or more of their add-ons hidden after upgrading to the latest Firefox version, affecting both desktop and mobile.”
Mozilla further states that the add-ons are still present on systems and that they have paused Firefox updates to prevent other users from encountering the issue. They promise that a fix is forthcoming to rectify this for the users that have already pulled their hair out wondering where their favorite extension has disappeared to.
In the meantime, they have published a work-around that involves installing, ironically, an add-on and following their instructions to recover the “lost” extensions. There is no time-frame yet for the fix to be issued, but we doubt it will take very long. You can find the fix by visiting the Firefox Help page. Be sure to follow the instructions published there and you should have no problem fixing the issue.
