Firefox Add-on Moves Downloads to a Tab

As all Firefox users know, when you you download a file a separate download window opens. That’s fine, but it’s not exactly optimum because if you click to another tab or on a link then that downloads window gets buried behind the browser. It would be much better if you could make your download a tab of it own. Fortunately, thanks to Firefox’s extensive add-ons market, someone has created an extension to do just that.
Downloads in Tab is an add-on that automatically moves your download window to a tab of it’s own. The extension actually even gives you the option to show the old window. You can also choose to open the tab when a download starts, close it when it ends, and move the tab to first.
The Downloads to Tabs extension solves a big need in Firefox for my house. Having the downloads window hidden away has been a real hassle for us and this is a great fix with a few simple, useful options.
