Convert Word To PDF Online For Free

Frequently the need arises to convert a Word document into a PDF.  Of course, it can be done if you own a copy of Adobe Acrobat, but that is pricey and most users don’t have  enough of a need to justify the cost.  However, free solutions are available online.  This is the third free, online PDF conversion tool I have tried.  Previously I looked at Doc2PDF and PDF Converter.  This time I tried out PDF Online.

Like the previous 2, PDF Online requires the user to upload their Word file.  The maximum file size is 2MB, which is plenty for almost any .docx file.  Also like the previous 2 ones I tried out, PDF Online will email you your completed PDF file.  Two drawbacks I found were, one, that it requires an email, whereas Doc2PDF will give you an option to have the file emailed or you can download the completed version directly from the site.  Two, your file is renamed, although it does allow you to choose the new name.

PDF Online also offers a premium desktop version which you can purchase for $19.95.  They also offer an array of other products, including high-end server solutions.

PDF Online works well and is quick.  However, it’s faster or easier than the previous 2 I tested and it is hampered by the two limitations I mentioned.  If neither of those are a problem for you then this will work well, but if you want what I feel is a better service, then stick to Doc2PDF.
