Missing Windows .dll Files

Everyone has probably seen that error message saying a .dll file is missing.  If it’s a program you installed then chances are a reinstall will fix it or maybe just a quick visit to the web and a search for the file will turn it up in one of vast .dll libraries online.  If it’s a native Windows function then what do you do?  Get your Windows disc (or recovery disc that came with your PC) ready and follow these simple instructions.

1. Click Start => Programs => Accessories => and right-click on Command Prompt and then choose Run as administrator.

run as admin1 Missing Windows .dll Files

2. Now type sfc /scannow.

scannow Missing Windows .dll Files

3. If any missing files are found by the scan then you will be prompted to insert your disc to repair.
