Windows 7 Recovery Disc

One of these days you will turn on your trusty PC and be faced with an error, of some sort, that prevents Windows from starting up. It’s not a question of if, but when.
The first step of preparing for this inevitable moment is to backup your precious files – your pictures, videos, documents, music, etc. Keep this backup up-to-date. Store it off-site if possible. If you really want to go the extra mile, you can make an image of your hard drive. While not necessary, an image makes recovering from a total hard drive melt-down much quicker and easier. Without an image you will need to reinstall Windows and all of your apps manually and then copy your backed-up files back over to the PC from your external drive, DVD, or other choice of back-up media.
Before any of these scenarios has a chance to happen, you need to make a Windows Recovery Disc. This will help greatly some dark day in the future. Lets take a look at the steps.
1. Click Start and choose Control Panel.
2. Click System and Security.

3. Now choose Backup and Restore
4. Insert a blank CD into your DVD drive and then click Create a system repair disc.

5. Once the disc is created you may want to verify it is working order.
6. Reboot your PC (if it doesn’t automatically, then choose to boot from the DVD drive).
7. After loading the files it will ask you to choose your language.
8. It should now find your Windows 7 files.
9. And finally, you will see the Recovery Tool and be able to choose your option.
Good luck and lets hope you don’t need this…but eventually….
